1st day here and we get a taxi to the Intercontinental, that is a lovely hotel right on the edge of the city and overlooking the famous Adelaide Oval cricket ground. Our room is on a high floor, so a great view of the park and river. So, we decide to have a wander, but it's really quiet - especially as it's Easter and a Bank Holiday. We head for the central market and that's where everyone is - the place is packed and the market is great. Selling everything you could want from fresh produce to that elastic band you know you need! But only one day here as we pick up our motor home and decide to try a bit of shopping. Best place is Woolworth. But not the one we used to love in the UK but a really great store akin to Morrisons, in fact. So, stocked up on food and, of course, some wine (although we had to go to an independent store, because the major retail outlets are not allowed to compete with local liqueur outlets), we then head off to our first stop, which is pretty close to the city as we just wanted to chill out and plan our route. So we arrive at Levi Park in Walkerville. It's a lovely site and we soon get familiar with the life of campervaning! An opportunity to do our washing; learn about filling up with water; make sure you plug in your electric; learn about the dump site and waste water. And it's best to be near the shower block, so there is not the long walk in your pj's in the morning. We have a great Indian meal at the Chennai Palace - very authentic and the taste of the food was excellent. After the meal, we walk down by the river, lined by ancient trees that could probably tell you a few stories

The campervan is actually quite good. Remarkably we store all our cases, so the interior is very clear. Driving is pretty easy as the roads are both wide and well signposted. We can have a shower and the bed is pretty firm and a good size. Tomorrow, off to the Yorke Peninsula, based upon a recommendation of the staff of the Intercontinental; fingers crossed as it's the opposite direction to where we are really heading!
