Up early for our flight back to Delhi. Fun and games at Amritsar airport as still a high security alert in place; did involve pretty much emptying the contents of our suitcase at one stage. Had a half day tour of the city which was fine; saw Shah Jaham's Mosque (India's largest mosque), Raj Ghat (Ghandi's cremation site), Gurudwara Bangla Sahib (Sikh temple) and Humayuns Tomb. The Sikh temple had a similar philosophy to the Golden Temple at Amritsar regarding feeding people and we once again saw the amazing organisation of volunteers who helped feed anyone who wanted feeding. After that, an advenerous tut tut ride in the mad Delhi traffic, which was fun. Even more fun was that some streets were closed due to demonstrations regarding the upcoming elections; plenty of rather stern looking police about where it would not have taken much to get them flashing their armwear. Back to the Imperial for dinner and a nice Indian bottle of wine; the Indian wine is surprisingly good.
