Off on a bike ride today with Bonza Bike Tours, recommended to us by the fellow traveller on the river cruise the other night. We all get kitted out and off we go, with 6 others. The tour is about 4 hours long and takes us to a fair bit of the city, including Chinatown, over Sydney Harbour Bridge, through a few parks along the harbour and we have an hour in one of the city’s oldest pubs, The Lord Nelson. Along the way, we see a demolished car with a huge rock on it that takes pride of place on a roundabout (it is art apparently). We go through the Botanical Gardens, that included a 'chair' made of rock made by convicts in 1810 for Elizabeth Macquarie, wife of the then Govenor of New South Wales. The ride over Sydney Harbour Bridge is fun, although by then, it is absolutely chucking it down with rain, so we are all getting a right soaking. But that adds to the fun and as it's not too cold, we all don't mind. The stop at The Lord Nelson was welcome, however, as there was a lovely fire going, it gave us all a chance to dry out a bit! After the tour, we showered and changed at the hotel, then had a great meal at The Spice Room down by the Quay. It was still raining when we left, but we still had a great day.
