We awoke early to see the sunrise and upon opening the motorhome door, we were eyeballed by umpteen kangeroos; they had surrounded the vehicle and we wondered if this was revenge time for the 'roos that had been road killed. Did they think their friends and family had been mowed down by just our motorhome? However, this moment of madness disappeared when we stepped out of the van and the Skippy lookalikes hopped away. We took some photos and then thought a stroll down the beach would be nice. We had hardly stepped on the beach when we saw what looked like a baby crocodile, sunbathing. Was it alive? Was it real and not a toy? Not looking to pick a fight, we took a snap and left it alone. Then, on our way back from the shower hut, we saw an emu. Rod Hull was nowhere in sight, so we managed a crafty picture, before the bird legged it away, clearly wanting to be as far as possible from Mr Hull's right hand.

Our next stop is Kiama and we stay at Kendalls Beach Holiday Park for 2 nights. The park is right on the beach and about 15 minutes stroll into the town, along a cliff top path. The town itself is pretty uninteresting, but it does have some older buildings still standing, such as the Post Office from 1878 and the Lighthouse from 1887. At the Lighthouse is the famous 'blowhole', that was first witnessed by a European in 1797. It is quite a sight, with the eruption of water definitely resembling the whale's spout. We stroll around the bay and decide to have a drink at Yves. Then it becomes two drinks and we fancy some food. We choose sirlion steak and chicken provincial; both dishes were excellent. Then back to our mobile home, to discuss plans for tomorrow.
